Bookeen has signed an agreement with Adobe to license the Adobe Reader Mobile SDK for its products. The new software will support the engine modification technology PDF, digital rights management from Adobe, as well as reading files EPUB, a standard format for digital book based on XML and provides flexibility for publishers. Bookeen products will therefore be compatible with Adobe Digital Edition Desktop (PC and Mac compatible), allowing users to download content from a wider variety of sources. Support for these two formats, PDF and EPUB, will be available via a software release is planned by April 2009, details in the coming weeks.
